If we were having coffee, I’d lament that it is already August. How is that possible? Didn’t the summer just start? I seriously do not understand how time passes so fast. My mom used to say that time passes faster the older you get, but I didn’t really believe her until I hit my 30s. Now it’s like I’m in some weird warp where the clocks keep skipping hours and there is quite literally never enough time. Of course, I’ve also had a busy summer work wise, and the hours do disappear rapidly when there’s a deadline involved. On the plus side, I hope being this busy and panicked has made me a faster writer. Because I am super sick of being so painfully slow.
If we were having coffee, I’d concede that there have been bright spots amidst the panicked deadlines. My blog post this Monday on How To Get Work as a Writer was one of the best posts we’ve ever had, traffic wise. So yay! And last weekend I eked out some free time to rock the Bike Rave. Cycling around Toronto en masse with bikes lit up by glowsticks and lights is a neat experience. Even better are the speaker contraptions people attach to their pedal-powered vehicles so that we have music on the ride. It is a Bike Rave after all. Here are some pics…
Next year you should totally come! Also, I am buying you this coffee because I’ve been such a crummy, absent friend lately. Hope to see you again sooner rather than later!

I know all about time flying by the older you get. I’m still young at heart so hopefully that’s all that matters. 🙂

Young at heart is the most important! 🙂
My mother told me the same thing. Don’t you hate when they’re right? I LOL’d about the strange time warp. Too funny, and so true!
Aw, the wisdom of older people! I did hate that she was right, and now I have become that know-it-all old lady dispensing unwanted advice to young’uns who roll their eyes at me. Just you wait, youth of today, just wait…
Glad to see you around again! Hope the time has been good to you, with lots of writing progress!
The Bike Rave looks amazing!!!
Thanks! Lots of writing, yes, though measuring the progress is more difficult. I never get as far as I want to, but I’m plugging away and trying to get faster. 🙂
Bike Rave sounds awesome. I’m now wondering if I can get away with adding glo sticks to my bike!
Confession: I left mine on. They’re not that bright anymore, but they still add a bit of colour. 😉
That Bike Rave looks awesome! What a cool idea!! Unfortunately my hometown is really hilly, so I think we’d lose about half the group within the first few kilometres but it’s a cool concept nonetheless. Where I sued to live in Southport, UK, right by the sea, they used to do a Glowstick Charity Ride and people had not only illuminated bikes but also wore loads of lights etc. but it was definitely lacking the tunes!
Aw, it’s all about the tunes! And next year I definitely want to be wearing lights too. Thanks for stopping by for a raver coffee!
Welcome back around 🙂 Absolutely love those pictures. Now off to check out your article lol
Thanks! And I didn’t realize it was National Relaxation Day. I will try to partake in that too. 😉
Heather,
I’m enjoying your blog ride. Thanks for the coffee. Buy me a bike too.
Ha! How about I just let you borrow one of mine. 😉
