A Holiday Wish For Writers

CrookedCakeThis time of year, as we wrap gifts and consider which New Year’s Eve party to attend, it’s inevitable that we look back on 2013 before it slips away. Happily, 2013 saw the birth of Write On Sisters.

As individuals, each of the Sisters has had challenges and triumphs that left us reeling or dancing a gleeful jig.

  • Jenn published her memoir and moved from agenting into full-time editing and writing.
  • Robin started restoring a battered 1962 Land Rover with her husband and teamed up with her eldest son to participate in NaNoWriMo for the first time.
  • Caryn broke TWO ankles (not at the same time) and put the finishing touches on her novel, Wives of Lucifer, now rearing to go and drawing interest from agents.
  • Heather took a year off from screenwriting to write a novel, and though it’s not yet done, she learned a ton and is on track to finish in 2014. Plus, she learned how to do a backflip on the trampoline!

We’re writers. As we build our platforms, network and continue to fly or stumble over hurdles, we can be anything we want, take readers on magical, terrifying, exhilarating journeys, and while tech takes over the world, rest easy knowing that nothing will ever replace the writer.

From us to you:

May you have a holiday season filled with cake, and may The Blue Bird of Happiness lay an egg in your ear.

Love from the Sisters:

Robin, Heather, Caryn and Jenn
